Fokus Development plans to construct a commercial building with office and retail use on the site of the old municipal library in Düsseldorfer Straße. An anchor tenant from the textile sector, not yet present in Duisburg, is foreseen for the approximately 7,000 sqm retail area. In addition, there are plans for offices on a surface area of around 500 sqm on the second floor. Fokus Development AG itself will also occupy office space in the new building. The investment volume for the new construction will amount to around Euro 27 mio.

Fokus is also working to develop the Volksbank building on the opposite side of Börsenstraße. The redevelopment of the urban district centred around Düsseldorfer Straße / corner of Börsenstraße should result in increased customer frequentation of Börsenstraße as a supplementary retail location. The revitalisation of this route parallel to Königstraße will have an enduringly positive effect on Duisburg city centre.
